Alex Scarrow Guest Photo Alex Scarrow used to be a rock guitarist, then he became a graphic artist, then he decided to be a computer games designer and his work is included in Waterworld, Evolva, The Thing, Spartan, Gates of Troy, Legion Arena. In 2005 I got my first book deal with Orion, writing adult thrillers. And in 2009 he signed up with Puffin to write the succesful TimeRiders series. He has written a number of successful thrillers and several screenplays, but it's YA fiction that has allowed him to really have fun with the ideas and concepts he was playing around with when designing games. TimeRiders is a series of young adult science fiction novels. It is planned to have nine books and is currently published by the Penguin Group. The novels revolve around teenagers known as the TimeRiders who are recruited by an entity known as 'The Agency' moments before their deaths. The Agency was set up to protect the established set of events throughout history and to fix it if it is tampered with. They operate from their field office underneath an archway of the Williamsburg Bridge in New York City in a two day time dilation 'Time Bubble', on 10 and 11 September 2001. Each novel revolves around a major change in the historical timeline and the team must work with each other to fix it with the help of a 'support unit' - a cyborg who can mimic human behaviour. TimeRiders: Gates of Rome (book 5) out 2nd February 2012!

Alex lives in Norwich with his son, Jacob, his wife, Frances, and two very fat rats.
