Emma J King, PhD - biography

Emma has an MPhys in Physics with Astrophysics and a PhD in Cosmology, although she is still surprised every time anyone calls her “Dr King”. She now works as a freelance science communicator, giving lectures at schools, science festivals and anywhere else they will let her stand up and talk about physics. Emma is also a long-time science fiction fan - having joined fandom 'proper' aged 15 when she found an advert for ZZ9 in the back of a copy of Mostly Harmless, she has been an irregular at conventions ever since. She particularly enjoys speaking at conventions as it allows her to combine three of her favourite things: physics, science fiction and beer.
